{"id":2052,"date":"2020-05-28T15:21:04","date_gmt":"2020-05-28T15:21:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sotramont.com?p=2052"},"modified":"2020-10-01T21:20:26","modified_gmt":"2020-10-01T21:20:26","slug":"bois-franc-a-tale-of-two-developers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sotramont.com\/en\/bois-franc-a-tale-of-two-developers\/","title":{"rendered":"Bois-Franc: A tale of two developers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section id=\"block--image-slider\" class=\"block block--image-slider size-lg\">\n\n    <div class='c--image'>\n\t\t\t<figure class='c--image-bg'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='c--image-bg__inner sm--parallax' data-sm-parallax-y='12vh' style='background-image:url(https:\/\/sotramont.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Webp.net-compress-image-1.jpg);'><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n    <section id=\"block--text-left\" class=\"block block--text-left\" >\n        <div class=\"row\">\n            <div class=\"col col-lg-14 col-md-16 col-sm-18 col-xs-20 col-22\">\n\n                <div class=\"content-box\">\n                    <p>Once upon a time in a kingdom not so far away, two developers \u2014 Sotramont and Montclair \u2014 formed a partnership to purchase land owned by Bombardier and develop the last section of an innovative transit-oriented neighbourhood (TOD) in St-Laurent, that was originally started in 1992 with a total of five developers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSotramont developed the project\u2019s first square, Square Gauguin, in 1993, and its first condo, Havre de la Brunante, in 1994, so we\u2019ve been around from the beginning,\u201d said Marc-Andr\u00e9-Roy, an associate partner at Sotramont.<\/p>\n<p>The project has evolved over the last 27 years, with the neighbourhood becoming a popular choice for its green space and easy commute downtown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the new REM station \u2014 the only REM station to bear the name of a neighbourhood \u2014 residents of Bois-Franc will be directly connected to downtown Montreal and the airport in a matter of minutes. They will be able to enjoy the oasis of quality of life and services that the neighbourhood offers, with increased connectivity at their doorstep.\u201d<\/p>\n                <\/div>\n\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n\n<section id=\"block--image-slider\" class=\"block block--image-slider default\">\n\n    <div class='c--image'>\n\t\t\t<figure class='c--image-bg'>\n\t\t\t\t<div class='c--image-bg__inner sm--parallax' data-sm-parallax-y='12vh' style='background-image:url(https:\/\/sotramont.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/ETP_6951.jpg);'><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n    <section id=\"block--text-left\" class=\"block block--text-left\" >\n        <div class=\"row\">\n            <div class=\"col col-lg-14 col-md-16 col-sm-18 col-xs-20 col-22\">\n\n                <div class=\"content-box\">\n                    <p>\u201cBois-Franc originally planned for 31 per cent of the land that was constructible to be given to the borough, so it could make parks and lakes throughout the project,\u201d he said. \u201cNow, the beauty of Bois-Franc is all the parks and lakes that we have. On any given weekend, if you\u2019re walking around in the summer, you\u2019ll see families with strollers and kids playing because it\u2019s an ideal setting for young families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The variety of shops and services that are an integral part of Bois-Franc\u2019s development plan, as well as the abundance of green space, make it an extremely livable neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s all about location, location, location,\u201d Roy said. \u201cWhere in Montreal can you find a neighbourhood with such architectural quality, green spaces and variety of living spaces?
